The Island of Cres
The island of Cres is the largest island on the Adriatic, one of the most distinctive islands rich in a unique flora and fauna, with a well preserved ecological balance and an untouched nature, in spite of the fact that traces of an organized life on the island for some 4,000 years past can be found. This is an island of a mystic peace, of an Arcadian landscape and of real monuments of human efforts reflecting themselves in the infinite chains of huge stone blocks and dry stone walls that cover the whole island as a precious lace. There are more and more renewed olive-groves and a number of pleasant restaurants offering the best lamb's meat and the famous scampi from the Kvarner Bay. And it is because of this delicious food originating from the island of Cres that the boaters will find the island of Cres a marvellous place to be visited.
Bathed in the smells of the Mediterranean, in the sounds of an untouched nature and in the beauties of its landscape, the island of Cres can be a perfect place to return to nature and to enjoy in its real values, thus being, in a lot of ways, a unique island not only in the Mediterranean but within the whole Europe as well.
